MCSRifleRest

The MCS Precision rifle rest was first designed
specifically for the FCSA 1000 yard bench rest
competition and the roll and torque of the big 50 bmg.
It enables the shooter to achieve world class accuracy
out of their rifle and ammunition. Each rest comes ready
to shoot with the customers choice of a bag plate and
four piece Cordura nylon bag filled with heavy sand, up
to 6 1/2" in width. Additional bag plates can be order to
your specs. Some of the main goals during engineering
and prototyping, was to make a front rest that was very
rigid, stable and one that would perform the same on
your first shot of the record string, as your last. We
looked at all the conventional rests on the market and
tried to come up with a better design. With the help and
input of many top shooters we think that we have
accomplished that goal.

We start with a design that is a radical departure from the norm, instead of one single main pillar holding up the front bag
plate, we use three. The two outside pillars are massive 25mm hard chromed linear shafts. The top plate runs on these
shafts with a pair of Precision linear flanged bearings. These bearings are sealed on the top and bottom to keep out sand
and dirt. Once the rest is adjusted to the proper height these shafts are locked into place by two opposing locking pins.
The main shaft is 1 1/8" x 5 precision acme thread shaft that has a pinwheel for vertical adjustment. This pinwheel rides
on roller bearings for a smooth operation. Once this main shaft is locked down with the outside pillars, the MCS front
rest becomes the most rigid and stable platform that you will have ever shot from.

The base and the top plate are made out of 1/2" thick plate steel, along with being very rigid, this helped us achieve the
target weight of 50lbs. The base is designed to have a very wide stance with plenty of room to add shot bags for the
guys that want more weight. The top plate is equipped with an adjustable rifle stop that is made out of 7/16 dia rod, it
gives you a no flex stop when you bring your gun back into position. The massive adjustable legs are 1/2" x 20 stainless
steel with replaceable hard points. We have done many test with hard points and have found ones that are just right. Hard
but not hard enough to shatter if you want to pound them into concrete. Each rest comes with an extra set of hard
points. MCS also offers additional sets as needed.

The bag plate is designed so that it can be changed in just a matter of seconds. This is a big advantage for guys shooting
different guns for light and heavy class. The front bags are of a 4 piece design. They are longer than most at about 2 3/4
from the front to back and only about 5/8" high. The 4 piece design is done to help keep the heavy sand from moving
from the side of the stock to the bottom during your record string. This is a very big key point that helps to maintain
equal bag tension for that shot to shot consistency.

Another key element of this rest is the height of the bags off the top of the
bench. With the rest at its lowest point you will get a super low of about 5 1/2"
to a tall height of 9" with the addition of the main shaft extension block.. This
extension block is very easy to install, all you have to do is take out one screw,
add the extension and replace the screw, it only takes about 60 seconds.

The standard color is metallic silver. But you can also order the rest in Red,
Green and Blue, at no additional charge.
