Team Manners was spread out across the country this April. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone.

Several Team shooters finished strong across multiple disciplines.

First off we want to congratulate Jeremy Cornelius on his 2^nd place finish in Open Light at the Little Hunt on the Prairie match. This is a NRL Hunter match, all stages are blind and you have to locate, range, build position, and engage targets while having weight limits on the rifle you’re using. Jeremy used our LRH allowing him to build a rifle that comes out to 11.5 loaded down! The LRH excels in giving you target rifle capabilities at extremely light and trimmed weights and size.

The LRH comes standard with an Arca rail. This makes for rock solid tripod shooting when you need to elevate your position. Throughout the 16 stages of the match he shot all but 2 off of the tripod. This again proving you can have great stability and accuracy with a light weight package. We donated one to the match for the prize rifle and one to the other NRL Hunter match in Wyoming.

The LRH has been very popular for these type matches and hunters, we’ve listened and now glad to announce a steady supply of them on the website!

A windy time for ELR at the Spearpoint Ranch match but it yielded 2 wins on both divisions. Solid job to Derek Love and Otis White for securing both light and heavy divisions. Otis White shot a .338 Enabler in Light division to clean the 5 targets at 2,203 yards while Derek used a .416 in Heavy and was able to put a bullet on target at 3,370 yards. Ryan Cheney finished in 3^rd!  Very impressive men!

Over in the PRS world we attended the Alabama Precision match supported by A-Team Precision. We were happy to donate a TCS to the prize rifle that was given away through random draw at the match. Having an equal chance to win a custom rifle was exciting for the crowd and we hope the winner enjoys it. We also donated a stock and a half off cert to the prize table.

We had 2 team shooters finish in the top 20 of the match and one also taking top Tactical with a .308 in our TCS. Cody Kennedy finished 12^th and Robert Brantley finished 17^th and Top Tactical out of the 125 shooters.

The following weekend we found ourselves in Texas at the Leupold Best in Texas match. With some beautiful scenery and pleasant winds competitors fought it out over 18 stages. We had 4 team shooters shooting; 2 in open and 2 in tac. We had a podium finish with Robert taking 18^th overall along with top Tactical. Clayton Doucet finished 2^nd in Tactical

In the regional series team shooters Kendal Simpson also Greg Connoyer finished 3^rd in their matches. Kendal shot the Cool Acres and Greg shot the G.A. Precision Match.

The G.A. Precision match was a great time and Mr. Tom Manners himself was able to show up and R.O. the event. He donated a LRH to the winner of a pre-picked stage which was cool to see. Not many times do you see a prize like this for a one day match. We donated a LRH to the Alabama qualifier too. For that match we chose the “crease shooter” dead middle of the pack. We’re hoping this will be a fun a good way to give back to the sport that has been good to us!

The ELR season started last month at the Spearpoint Ranch in Barnard Kansas. With targets ranging from 1510 yards out to 4,202 yards you can really stretch the legs out on a rifle. With Team Manners competing in both Light and Heavy class we were able to secure a dominating lead. Details follow:

Shane and Jacklyn Bryan were running Heavy class shooting a .375 Cheytac built by G.A. Precision and running Hornady A-Tips and Hodgdon down a Bartlein barrel. Spotting was done with Swarovoski BTX 115 and the Athalon Cronus on the rifle.  They used an Applied Ballistics PDM  (Personal Drag Model) gathered at the event. Thanks AB for doing this for all the shooters!

Shane and Jacklyn have been busy with a new baby and had just enough time to get their ammo loaded up and head the match. Arriving on site the day before they checked their zero, got a PDM and made a few confirmation shots at the 1,400 yard targets. Ready for the match!

Day one started with a bang with 7 out of 10 hits at the 1,860 and 1,943 yard targets with a 1^st round impact at 1,943 yards! Jacklyn was great on the glass keeping the rounds on target!

The final targets didn’t stand a chance. With a good wind call and solid elevation the team achieved 1^st round impacts on both targets. Those targets are 2,073 and 2,203 in case you’re wondering! What an awesome way to finish day 1 with a solid lead with more hits than anyone else.

Moving into day 3 you knew when you were to shoot. Day one is random drawn but day 2 is gone by order of finish, but in reverse. So that put them shooting last for the day when the wind was not in their favor. On top of that the target ranges made a big jump; starting at 3,027 yards in heavy Kansas wind is no joke. They would need to start using their Tacom HQ Charlie which was set to 40MRAD (Optical Prism that shifts your image down forcing you to elevate your muzzle). The first target needed 38MRAD of elevation so they started out holding UNDER the target but worse, having so much wind they maxed out their windage turret and was forced to hold out in dead space in their optic. Nevertheless they got a hit on the 3,027 yard target and moved on to get 3 impacts at 3,370 yards. Being that only 7 shots impacted it prior that was phenomenal results. 3,629 wasn’t too far either getting a second round impact there. They danced around the final target which was 4,203 yards. Being that you’re looking into the barrel at that elevation there was no way to get a good hold much less a correction. Scoring 105,942 points was a solid lead over the 2^nd place finish of 82,469 points.

We’re extremely proud of the teamwork and success with the gear in the field. We can’t thank our partners enough for all the help through the season.

Hornady, G.A. Precision, Bartlein Barrels, Hodgdon Powder, Armageddon Gear, and RCBS all came together with us to make a winning combination! You guys rock!

Not to leave out Light Gun, Paul Phillips secured a win in that division shooting our stock also with Bartlein Barrels. He backed Shane and Jacklyn up with spotting with his Swaro BTX Spotter. He is usually behind the heavy guns but wanted to show up and show out with the light gun.

The GAP Grind is a special event that means a lot to both the shooters and us at Manners. Having an opportunity for a new shooter to pair up with a seasoned pro in a true match environment is the foundation of paying it forward. With this, we try to take it further and promote our pay it forward program with both our shooters and our own gear.

Our own sponsored shooters and customers always step up to give back to the community that they were once new to themselves. We pick a handful of amateurs to give stocks to, we would be lying to say that we don’t get any joy out of seeing them walk up to get their stock! On top of that Manners always donates a new build to a deserving new shooter. This year we donated a GAP PPR which will allow the shooter to be able to compete in Production Div rather than being forced to shoot in Open.

We hope our efforts make their journey much better with better success. We also make a point to donate 2 prizes to the table for all to have a chance to get. Getting to see the fire in the new shooters gets us going as much as ever and we love being able to give back to the community that has been so good to us. We are already excited for next year’s GAP Grind! We can’t wait to see you there!

Manners Composite Stocks was proud to see several shooters not only qualify for the prestigious Armageddon Gear Cup but also shoot and place well throughout the event.

For the 3-day event, all shooters had to make the cut to move on to the next day. With half the field being sent home on Day 1, all of the Manners team shooters made the cut and moved on to Day 2. This was no easy feat as the nation’s top shooters were bringing their best. Not only did all MCS shooters advance, but Brian Allen had the top score that day while shooting with our new PRS-TCS. All but one MCS shooter chose the TCS, with Troy Livesay staying with the T4A.

Day 2 brought a new challenge for shooters; another cut on the horizon while the top echelon was dropping few, if any, points. Being on a completely different range with different stages and props meant everyone had to stay on their game. MCS was proud to have 2 of our shooters make  the cut and move on to Day 3: Brian Allen and Robert Brantley.  This was quite an accomplishment considering the competition started with 50 of the nation’s best shooters and only 10 moved on to Day 3.

Day 3 was a teeth-grinder comprised of similar stages in an unprecedented effort to make the competition as fair as possible. If one squad was shooting a 1000-yard stage, the other squad would also in case the winds changed and increased the difficulty. If one squad move to a 400-yard target array, the other squad did the same. The match organizers created a challenging Course of Fire and forced competitors to shoot in ways and off props they likely had never seen before. On top of that, all stages were blind, so competitors did not know what to expect. These hurdles kept all the competitors on their toes.

After a grueling final day of shooting, the MCS Team finished the tournament with Brian Allen making the final cut and Robert Brantley on the podium with a 2nd-Place finish.  MCS could not be more proud to see our products and shooters find success on such a challenging CoF.

The design and shape of the MCS-UC was the result of a group effort with Crescent Customs and ACGG member, John Vest. Our aim was to produce a stock manufactured by modern technologies and materials for durability and accuracy while still maintaining the custom feel and shape of a high-end, handmade, classic wood stock.

The Ultra Classic was made possible by a new layup process we developed which incorporates some new and old-school technology. The MCS-UC is the perfect starting platform for that classic lightweight mountain rifle. The shadow-line cheek piece is designed to help position your head for modern-style optics while still maintaining a straight comb. This shadow-line cheek flows elegantly into the 22-lines-per-inch checkered grip area with the same perfect show lines as the fore end.

Manners All-Employee Team takes home the crown at the 2018 King of 2 Miles!

• Leading the team was Robert Brantley with a 1st place win.  Robert took his place on the throne by racking up double the points of any previous winner.
• Thomas Manners brought home a 6th place finish and Drew Manners finished 21st in a tough crowd of competitors.

The King of 2 Miles match is the premier small arms long range match. It is designed to push what is possible in terms of cold bore shots and first round hits at extreme distances up to 2 miles (3520 yards) out. Teams are comprised of 3 members, each taking turns at shooting, spotting and wind coaching.

The new PRS-TCS was developed exclusively for Precision Rifle Series competitions. It was designed from the ground up with the ultimate goal of creating a fully weight-tunable stock to achieve the perfect balanced competition rifle while using a wide range of barreled action combinations. The PRS-TCS is loaded with standard out-of-the box-options not found on other stocks.

Standard configuration of the PRS-TCS with the supplied weights is 5 lb 9 oz. A weight of 8 lb 11 oz can be achieved with the optional steel rail and by adding additional weights. The action area of this stock is lowered so there is no need for a port or side bolt release cut to fit most actions. It is designed for all Remington-based right or left hand short actions only. This is a base model with more option to come in the near future. One exciting option developed at the same time as the PRS-TCS is the Sikes Clutch, designed by team shooter Bryan Sikes.
