Flush cups are sling mount bases that are embedded flush with the surface of the rifle stock. You insert a quick-detach push-button swivel into the flush cup base. Flush cups may be either rotating or non-rotating, and are usually located on the front and rear side (left side for RH shooters and right side for LH shooters), but can also be on the bottom of the stock.

Sling studs are sling mounts that are screwed into the bottom of the stock and protrude 3/8″. Sling swivels are used to attach slings to the sling studs. Sling studs may also be used as mounts for certain bipods.

Some of the most common placements of flush cups and sling studs are:

  • 1 sling stud bottom front, 2 flush cups left side (for RH shooters). This arrangement will accommodate a sling and a bipod.
  • 2 sling studs bottom front, 1 sling stud bottom rear. This arrangement will accommodate a sling and a bipod.
